welcome

I have always had a strong urge to live on the coast of Cornwall and I am fortunate enough to do so. I was also given the chance to work with the ships that came into our beautiful waters, supplying them with various pieces of chandlery and provisions they needed before they headed out onto the open ocean, and I thank my friend Tom for that opportunity.

I started to paint in the evenings at first for my own pleasure, then as people started to come up to me and ask if I could do them a commission I started to paint whenever I had the chance, I was loving it! I think it a real honor to be asked to paint a picture of a place that is so close to someone's heart and capture the essence of that beauty and put onto canvass.

The idea for my paintings comes very easily as I love to walk on the beaches and cliffs, especially on an early sunny spring/Summer morning, I adore the smell of the gorse, a very subtle scent of coconut, and the sound of the bees and skylarks as they flit over the shrubs, and then comes that breathtaking view of the coastline and the pure magnificence of the glistening aquamarine water.

Down on the beach you are deafened by roar of the Atlantic breakers that crash and peter out into fingers of foam that creep along the golden sands inching their way into the cool shadows of a dark cave…

Pure Escapism, Pure Inspiration.
